We have 3 ponies at the moment soon to be 5, what do those of you who have more than a couple of horses do for insurance?

I did read some are getting bhs gold with the liability cover and then savings for vets fees.

I also drive so thinking the BDS membership cover might be better.

Or are there insurers that do multi policies ?

thanks in advance.

I think a lot of people don't bother beyond third party.

If you think about it, insurance companies work on an odds-basis. They charge us enough to cover costs and make a profit on the basis that not all horses will require payment. If you pay £30pcm for one horse, there's a reasonable chance you'll "make your money back" in claims. If you have five horses and you're paying £150pcm, the chances of "making the money back" become slimmer simply because of the law of averages.

I'm not saying you shouldn't insure, of course - just saying that you might be better saving the premiums towards future vets fees once you have several!
