Just looking for opinions and advice.... I'd to invest in a suitable jacket that I can use for (very) low level competition (dressage and maybe a bit of jumping) as well as hunting later in the year. I don't do much competing so I don't want to set up a whole wardrobe of competition gear. I was thinking a good tweed hacking jacket might do the trick for everything. Navy would be my personal preference but not sure if that's acceptable for hunting?
Anyone got any suggestions please? Thanks! ;)

Its kind of hard to get a jacket for both as hunting jackets are usually quite heavy so you will be quite warm in summer or if you get a lighter one youl be freezing in winter.

Im lucky here in Ireland no one cares if the followers wear proper jackets so I just wear a normal waterproof jacket and then have my navy one for competitions!

I thought about that....but then I realised that even in winter I ride out in a T-shirt and maybe a jumper if its minus temps. I tend to be very very hot all the time, especially if I have to exert myself :D Thinking that for hunting I could put a thermal layer on underneath and be nice and comfy in a light jacket?

This all assumes that me and my boy will be ready to hunt this year..... my tweed jacket might just end up being worn with my jeans to go to the movies or once, to the yard's annual dressage comp :D

My sister had tweed for everything- when she hunted she wore thermals, and some decent wool jumpers under it, and in the summer just has her base layer. She's now got a posh navy jacket for hunting, after years of waiting to be old enough, but until this season her tweed served her very well.

It is rarely ever incorrect as well for local shows and affiliated stuff.
