multiple swollen joints in one field!!!

Hello

I brought my horse in this afternoon to hack out and both his off side joints were swollen but with no heat in. I hosed them and then led him out. He came back in with the same swellings and heat in both. The other livery that is in the same field has just said that her horse also has a swelling and heat in her leg????!!!!

It could be coinsidence but when I brougt mine in I immediately thought oinfection and looked for a hole or a thorn etc. She had the same thought when she brought her mare in.

There are no obvious places they could pick anything up from.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be??

I rang the vet who said just keep an eye on it and don't worry.

A virus? Have you checked your horses temp? Thats normally a good way of monitoring them and catching something before it gets out of hand
