Pony may need a multivitamin in the next few weeks; he's on a major diet but I still want to make sure he's getting all the vitamins and minerals he needs.

Can anyone recommend a multivitamin for a 14hh native, out 24/7 on very resticted grazing. Will be having soaked hay if necessary once the grass has gone. Not having any feed (if he was he'd be having Happy Hoof). He just has an apple a day.

Thanks!

I had my mare on NAF veteran supplement, but it was really powderyand took quite alot of food and dampening to make it palatable, and from what I gather their General Purpose supplement is the same. I was using it as she wwasn't being fed the recommended amounts of her hard feed, but ended up having to feed more than I wanted just to mix the supplement in!
Just changed her over to a cod liver oil based general supplement which she loves (bonus as she's a fussy feeder!) but again, this does need some food to be mixed with.
If you don't want to feed him at all, why not feed something like Topspec/Bluechip which provide all the essential vit/mins but can befed alone. The recommended feeding rate for my 500kgs(ish!) horses is two cups a day, so wouldn't be much at all for a pony.
Hope this helps!

Have used Feedmark's Benevit all round supplement on my boy for years and it is fab stuff! He has grass & hay only and is on a diet at the moment too! But he looks well all year with a lovely shiney coat. My horse likes the taste of it too even though I mix it with only 2 small handfuls of Hi Fi.

Before moving to Simple Systems and using their Total Eclipse, for years I used Feedmark's Benevit - great stuff, good price and gives them all they need - just give with a few carrots or chaff.

I use dodson and Horrel's daily vitamins and minerals. I get it from WVF for about 7 pounds a tub, and a tub lasts me about 8 months.

Any all round vit & min supplement really. NAF Pink Powder is good, but they also do a daily general supplement, as do most companies (Equimins, Global Herbs, Dengie etc.). You get basic ones but you also get more high-spec ones with B vitamins added.

if a tub is lasting you 8 months - i think you need to feed more for your horse to have the correct vit/min levels!!

I use either NAF general purpose or Equivite. I have to feed speedibeet to get him to eat it because you have to feed quite a lot of either and they're quite powdery (obviously, being a powder

I have a high regard for an Aussie product produced by an Equine Vet - http://www.kohnkesown.com. I am not sure if he produces something that will suit your very gorgeous pony's needs BUT he is generous with his time and may be able to offer you an objective opinion if you email him via his website
