As you know im off to the US for a while. And have had to sell shadow. Mum was aware that it was so upsetting that she has offered me £2000 to buy a nice foal, which she will look after and play with while im away and she knows her horse care.
I would like something that will reach 16hh and do dressage, and not too fine or too heavy. Anyone know of any for sale.
I never expected this! I love my mum lol and the knowledge that she will be caring for it is a great bonus (and for free). She couldnt have shadow because she doesnt ride anymore so shadow would have been wasted (she now drives instead)
So anyone bored and fancy doing some foal searching. Oh and it must be at least 12months old as mum has 5 acres split into 4 paddocks and it will need to be strong enough to put up with driving ponies which we dont think a really young horse will be able to do.

thats great news - just look on places like horsemart/horsequest.

I take it it will have another youngster to play and socialise with? As i think its important foals can socialise with others as much as possible.

Yeah, she has a little Sec C who is nearly 11 months, so the two can play together. Its quite exciting but nerve - racking at the same time. Shadow was two when i got him but my experience with a yearling is limited, but mum knows what shes doing- so she can point me in the ight direction.

I was offered a temporary job which will be great experience for me. It will be for a min of 6 months to possibility of 2 years max which is why we thought a oal would be a good option.

I am not sure the purpose of owning a horse 3000 miles away, which you will rely on your mom to look after. My mum offered to raise a puppy for me, however with her and my dad getting older, if anything happened to either of them it is just one more worthless hassle. I decided to wait instead!

Ive seen this one which is a WBx TB nearly 12 months. Within my budget which is small admittedly! What do you think. Its quite far away which is why some opinions would be nice. [image]http://

I can't advise on getting a youngster - I think i'd wait 'til you get back to find another.

Hi laws yeah i am happy and sad at the same time. Yeah i would have waited too, but Mum bought a house in Essex with land 3 months ago and has offered me the £2000. Not sure if that will still be there whan i get back lol, thats the only reason why im looking now. Hope all is well at your end of the world?

Has Gill got any Derek babies left????

Have a look for Treliver Decanter - I know she was selling some youngsters off and she had some gorgeous babies of his - which a few on here availed themselves of!!!

I'm sure someone nice will put a link on for you...
