Well we went to look at the fjord this morning and he's just perfect for mum. Couldn't fault him, she was at home on him straight away and had a play in the school and then went for a hack. He's cuddly and laid back, he goes forward from a nudge and stops with a gentle pull on the reins. Perfect for mum who's a nervous novice, he should hopefully really look after her. He's coming up six and is registered and branded. His registered name is Lukas but mum's decided on Fudge as he doesn't seem to know his name. So we're picking him up Saturday!!!! here he is:

Ahhhh he's so cute!!
Our old neighbours had a fjord x arab, he was absolutely stunning as had the fjord colouring in his mane but it was long, so layered silver/black/silver (I know its not silver but does look like it!). He was ever such a nice little horse.
Hope your mum enjoys Fudge!

He is gorgeous - looks a sensible choice. I echo the point about not changing names though but then I am a bit superstitious!

He looks super. FWIW the Fjord X TB that I knew many years ago (lovely ride but forward going) had the same kind of mane and the girl who looked after her took great care to cut it - with scissors - into a mohican ie long enough to stand straight up like a horse from the Panthenon frieze but also shows off the colours best...hope that makes sense (your chaps is a few inches too long now by that measure!)

Happy birthday Mum - The Pony looks fab, your mum looks just right on him, I think fjords and haffys and highlands are great for adult riders, plenty of girth but not to high to fall, brush, chuck rugs onto, although by the looks of him he wont be needing rugs.

The best of luck to both of them.

Yeah, can’t wait for Fudge to come home on Saturday!

I don’t think I have ever seen a bigger grin then the one Mum had on her face today.

Now we can go out hacking and do sponcered rides together hopefully!

What an absolutely fabulous photo the first one is! Your Mother looks totally chuffed with herself and the pony.

My first reaction to the photos was - look at the huge smile on her face! I wish them every success together. He looks an absolute cutie.

Ditto PF, Bodey was called Stevie when I brought him. No way could I have a horse called Steve (he didn’t know his name). Hasn’t been unlucky for me!

Also (and I’m sure Mum won’t mind me saying this) but Mum’s memory can be a little, well not what it used to be, so it had to be something she choose and something easy to remember. Lukas would never have stuck.

Pretty pony, I hope your Mum and he have many happy times together.(Their colouring matches!)

Are you going to let his mane grow out (it looks as if it halfway there already) or trim it? I really like their trimmed manes.
