My mum got married July last year and, as im new to posting on the forum thought some of you would lke to see the pictures :)
It was a 10 minute ride to the church from the house.

Mum rode Turk our 28 yr old ID x Danish Trotter, unfortunately we had him PTS 3 months later as he had such a poor winter the year before and we had made the decision not to put him through another one. So this was the last time he was ridden. We had owned him for 19 years and was part the family, he has left a big hole in our hearts. He knew on the day he had a special role in the wedding and believe he was proud to carry the bride to church.

I rode Jack our Fell pony

What a lovely thing to do!! Shame you couldn't go side saddle, sort of add to the elegance of the day but still how nice to share it with the horses. Love the pee photo..typical of a horse to show you up!!!:D

Just to add...what a lovely place too live!!

Had to laugh at Jack having a pee, it kind of sums up his attitude
All horses were so well behaved and seemed to love the experience!
We made sure our dresses were wide enough to accomodate a saddle but I have to say I was a little nervous dismounting was terrified dress would rip!

lovely pics. i wanted to ride my old mare to the church when i got married but she wouldn't have liked the dress or the fuss so couldn't do it.

what a way to remember your horse though, he looked stunning.

Oh lovely pics, what a nice idea.

LOL at the one taking a pee :D

Lovely countryside there, looks like you live in the middle of no mans land!

Thanks everyone it was a really special day, when we got inside the church I cried for most of the ceramony, ppl thought it was happy tears for mum, it was in fact because I knew it was the last time my boy would be ridden :(

But the day was perfect in every way.

You all look lovely, must have been a wonderful day with lasting memories. Turk looks brilliant, you would never know he had struggled through winter or anything. He looks really happy and bright too, got a cheeky look on his face :D

He had a wonderful summer but almost was PTS the winter previous, I promised him Id give him the best summer I could but would not make him gvo through another winter, the hardest decision ive ever had to amke but I couldnt have lived with myself if he had gone downhill again.
