Munstead BE Intro

Thinking of entering the Intro at Munstead at the end of March, any comments on what the XC course is like? Is dressage/SJ on grass or a surface?

I'm a BE virgin so this will be my first event, my friend is doing the OPN there so any comments on that course would also be appreciated.

Its a very nice inviting course.

Im taking my novicey horse (well novicey XC!!) and my baby and its a perfect course for them - im doing the intro too.

Munstead is ideal as a first intro, it's very inviting and pretty rustic looking. It's very reasonable to go xc schooling there if you want to do some preparation work.

But dont forget the rule - you arent alowed to school somewhere within a certain amount of time b4 you compete there in a BE event - check the BE rule book

Ooh SS1 if you do that you need to consider the riding club horse trials on 24th June at Borde Hill.

I am doing Mustead Intro too, it has a reputation for being a lovely first time intro.

Thanks, seem to remember people saying that it was a nice first course. My horse will jump anything, it's my nerves I'm more worried about!

What area is that for?

I live in Essex in Rayleigh and ride for Royal Wood RC and apparently there is a riding club ODE at Milton Keynes but then Borde Hill or somewhere like that is closer to us

Fantastic first intro or PN, just taken my 5yr old round it for schooling and it was great!! i will be there too as hoping to do the intro too

And also my first BE (unless I get balloted out) - the course is lovely, schooled over it on a friend's horse and it felt very nice. Will be taking a naughty grey connemara cross

Apart from the higher classes at Burnham Market they are on a surface
