Had a fabulous day! To those of you who dont know my mare, well...she can be a bit quirky, but I have persevered with her as she is so athletic. Have had her on moody mare supplement which think has calmed her down!
Anyway, warmed up for dressage lovely, and she was very calm and together...no spooky, no napping, just obedient. Went over to ring which is where I usually fall to pieces, but somehow managed to get it together and scored 30.5!!!! That's the best Ive ever done with her, so very chuffed
Show jumping, well, couldnt really practise too many as it was like picadilly circus in the collecting ring, so went in quickly. Unfortunately she felt like a donkey and was half asleep so knocked 2 down. Looking at the video, she just didnt bother, but the two fences were quite tiny. Very annoyed as show jumping is her best phase usually, and did very well BSJA over the winter
XC - took her in collecting ring, and didnt have any brakes. She then started getting a bit too excited and was doing a few buckaroos, so managed to get going more or less straight away. Came out the start box with no fuss (last year she used to stand on hind legs for about a minute as didnt want to leave the horses), jumped fences one and two like a complete donkey and nearly fell over
...so gave her a few whacks to get her moving forward, and then she gave me a fantastic, easy ride, clear within the time. Came back hardly sweating, and I suprised myself by not feeling totally exhausted either!!
In end, came 10th, but would have been 2nd if she had woken up in the show jumping. Im so incredibly pleased though as been through a messy breakup with my boyfriend this week, and havent really eaten or slept since monday. Feeling on cloud nine and realised that horses really are much more rewarding than men
