My dressage is at 9.42, and xc is round about 11.30am....glad it will be all over and done with!!

Are there any suprises in the course, or is it pretty much the same as last year? The only fence im slightly anxious about is the sand bunker one (think its about fence 9) which has the bright coloured bags in it....just for the fact it is quite bright and requires a turn away from home!! Will just kick on and shout there!!!!

Oh and will be there sunday too for the PN so will look out for you all fence judging!!
 
the only nasty on the intro course is: as you come along the first hedgeline (slanty thing and then chair) on the corner after the chair there are the two tiger trappy style fences round the corner. they are numbered seperately (5 and 6) but if you chose to ride straight through as a double both fences are very angled

i'm going through that in one i think. it rides much better than it looks and once over 5 all horses i've ever done it on have locked onto the 2nd. just make sure u dont continue after 6 down the bank

thing is i have jumped straight through it on Hattie before but i will kick myself if i get 20pen. and i would rather be clear with a time penalty or two if i take the longer route...

I know what you mean hattikins - they were in the intro last year im sure? I can remember thinking that i would rather jump the corner!!

They did ride ok though, providing you got right up to the hedge after the chair so that you got a good angle for them.

To be honest, really cant see myself getting that far with Kiri!! Not meaning to sound pesamistic (spelling??), but im just being realistic as she was so nappy when i took her xc schooling last weekend. dont think we are prepared for tommorow at all and need loads more xc schooling (which we would have done if the weather hadnt been so crap this winter) but will give it a go - will be happy if she jumps a few for me!!

Think im getting confused with riding for the corner, not the two separates!!
 
okey dokey - im going to bite the bullet and if by then she is giving me a confident feel i WILL take the straight route - we have ridden it without trouble before. and if she is being a pig i will take her "round the houses" just to be safe!!

oh no - don't blame me! But if I was in your position thats what I would do. It is about education at this stage!
 
yup its a tricky one! i'm going into the xc planning to go direct but if the atmosphere gets to him (first ode) and he feels sticky i'll do them separately.
