Muscle spasms

Hi,

My boyfriend took his new horse hunting this Sunday just gone and he was twitching all over through adrenaline, I know this is normal but he is still twitching and is very tucked up this morning and three days after the hunt I am getting abit concerned.

He slipped over twice with him (He is an 18hh irish sports horse and got far too strong!!) once round a corner on a road and the second on grass and so I would think he is very sore as he is alot of horse to hit the deck!

Has anyone ever seen this before? My only explanation is that he has tight muscles from the falls, I can't imagine it is STILL adrenaline!!

I'm currently waiting for the vet to get back to me but any advice/ previous experiences on here would be great!

Hi Lauren,

Definitely contact your vet - has he possibly tied up after hunting if his muscles are hard?

Thanks, just spoken to the vet and she didnt seem too concerned, just said what I thought really and that with him being a new horse we don't know how he reacts to things so could just be a few days for him to settle. I wa just worried as I'd never seen it persist for three days after!

Just got to give him lots of TLC and let him relax and if he is the same within a week then to give them a ring back x
