Music editing software for freestyle

I'd like to do some dressage to music this year. I have Garageband free software on my Macbook but I'm wondering if the free Audacity software might be better/easier to use? Please do let me know your thoughts if you have experience of using both?

I've never used Garageband, but I use Audacity a lot. It's very easy to pick up.

I use mix meister.. Could never make head nor tail of audacity.

We use audacity to make our demo music every year (I say we because my hubby does most of the technical bits of uploading music, I just do the cutting and pasting bit).
