Got a text from YO this morning to say my/daughter's horse was out of his stable this morning. SO I gave my duaghter a bit of a b**locking for not having bolted his door properly last night.

When I got to the yard I guessed that he had not been out long as his stable had the normal amount of poops in it and his hay was all eaten. Apparently he was found in the hay shed.

However, later on I found that he had cut the top of his back leg and on looking better at his stable and door, I noticed scrape marks on the concrete floor, one of his mats was skew and the bit of the bolt that the bolt slots into was bent and the door would not quite shut properly.

Just wondering now if he got down and could not get up and burst through his door?

Sometimes I wish we had CCTV on the yard.

Anyhoo - rode him out for a nice hack and he was fine and not lame or anything. Bathed the scrape on his leg and sprayed it with gentian violet.

So poor Manni who has never done a thing wrong in the 2 yesars I have had him, broke through the field fences earlier in the week to get to some grass and today apparently burst through his door.

Tomorrow he will get a shock if he tries to go through the fencing because the YM has electrified it now!

Snip id that once, got cast against his door and popped it out the front (they were panel fronted stables) and then spent the night eating everyone elses breakfasts!
