My new year resolution is to get out to more horsey events!! So what does everyone recommend?

The list i have is your horse, HOY, Olympia and Badminton

PLease gimme your lists!!

I'm off to see the yorkshire international showjumping in Sheffield in April, but that's only because it's round the corner from me, I'd love to go to a XC trial, does anyone know of any south yorkshireish ones? :)

Would love to go and see Badminton, Burghley and Olympia again. But this year is quite exciting, I have been a spectator at Hickstead now for the last 3 years and this year, *hopefully* (as long as there is no lame hoss or rider)will be competing! Would be a dream to do a class in the main arena :)

Not sure the British Open is on this year, guys.

That's about right, it was at the NEC, Birningham for a few years, but visitor numbers weren't great, stands were never full. Due to lack of support & the show losing money it was cancelled last year. It was a real shame as transport links were good, it was in the Midlands so easy to access from most places. The quality of the jumping was fantastic.....I for one will really miss it as it was the main event I went to each year.

If you're anywhere near Stafford, Scope Festival of Show Jumping is held at the County Showground every year & there are some really good classes to see. Many of the top riders are there as well. It's also free to get in & watch!

Ive been going to burghley for 15+ years and its not what it used to be - I did Hickstead for the 1st time last year and love love LOVED it!! shopping was much better and not full of over priced tut!! main event was great and very exciting to watch, I quite liked the fact that a lot of riders walked the course with the public and could be found wandering around the stalls - but maybe thats just the difference between showjumpers and eventers?

have never been to Olympia so thats on my list for this year :)

Badminton, Hickstead in the summer and Olympia..possibly Burghley but it is a painful drive for me to get home from there!

Olympia - magic at Xmas.
Burghley - miles better than Badminton.
Bramham - lovely event, which is so friendly. Just up A1 from South Yorks...
Hickstead - really good show, but not good if you live North of Watford!
British pen has moved back to Sheffield with another name hasn't it?
Yorkshire show.
Lots of the game fairs are good days out too, with plenty of horsey stuff, but other things for OHs too!

Olympia (a Christmas must!)
Gatcombe - super friendly, heaps better value for money than badminton and you get to see much more sport each day, top riders too.
Going to the yorkshire sj thing too, looks fab, and £20 a ticket - brilliant!
Would love to go to Hickstead, never been so maybe try to get there this year too.

Went to Windsor Horse Show for the first time last year and really enjoyed it. Never been to Olympia despite saying every year for about the last decade that I will go. From reading the posts on here I'm going to definitely go this year.
