Musto jacket labelled as a 'sample'

I bought a brand new with tags Musto jacket from ebay, from a power seller. When it arrived, I noticed it only had a small card label not the full labelling attached that the jackets usually do, and it says 'sample'. The listing did not mention anywhere that it was a sample and not the proper retail version.
The seller says they will refund me, but will the sample version be just as good as a proper one or not worth taking the risk? I have to go to all the trouble of packing it up and going to post office, which is not that convenient for me.

Dunno what to do!
 
I've picked up samples in sales before and they are, in my experience, just as good as the 'normal' item. They are exactly what they say - essentially a preview of something that will probably be in the collection next season, made in the same place by the same people. If you like it, keep it and bask in the satisfaction of being (horsey) fashion forward! :)
 
If the jacket fits and does what you want, why are you worried ? I returned a Musto that was not waterproof, they sent me back a jacket that had been worn in a photo shoot. It did not matter to me, all I wanted was a replacement coat. A sample just means it has been taken around and shown to people. It does not mean it is sub-standard.

I assume it was well below the price of a Musto from a normal shop ?
 
I have had musto samples before (from their outlet store) and they are just the same, perhaps next seasons colours or something, but proper musto stuff and proper quality. I would have thought you would have been able to get it for less than rrp in which case you have a good bargain! I'd hang on to it!
 
Ah you have bought 'cabbage'. I used to do wearer trials for a major company and so have a bit of experience with these garments (not Musto). You may find that you have a complete one off BUT its possible that it will be of a higher manufacturing quality than the garment which follows it into full production....or it will fall apart, fade, shrink etc in five minutes flat.

If you LIKE it for the price keep it, if not send it back.
