My lovely Musto is around 5 years old and is now badly leaking at the seams. I went to feed this afternoon just as it started throwing down and I got soaked through. When I took the jacket off you could see that the water had come through all the seams on the arms. Any ideas on whether this is fixable, or do I have to retire Mr. Musto and buy another one (ouch!).

Mine go in the washing machine with some Nikwax reproofer (they do one for human clothes but I've also used the rug ones

) Works really well, I tend to do mine once or twice a year as mine are rather elderly now!

Mine went like that after 4 yrs, I did try to reproof, but it did the same again within a few months. I finally got another one and use the old one for a spare

Contact Musto and tell them - my friend had a new Musto jacket that wasn't waterproof and suppliers actually hand delivered a replacement for her and took back the faulty jacket. Its worth a shot - Musto are very expensive and you should certainly expect them to last longer than that.

have you ever tumble dryed it???? I've got loads of Musto's as my friend works for them,my jacket was fine for 3 yrs until one day it got soaked and i thought it would be a good idea to put it in the dryer for a few minutes, ever since then it's been awful!!!! If i get caught in a bit of a shower it comes through at the arm seams, totally my fault though as it does state clearly that you should never do that!!! It's blousen,i love it soooo much, will have to get another, this ones about 5 yrs old now, love it.
