Muzzle Dilemma?

Horses are now living out 24/7 in big field of grass - mine has had a grazing muzzle on for the last month or so which has reduced his size a lot! But now they are all out day and night he obviously can’t have the muzzle on the whole time - bringing in isn’t an option as he would stress out being alone in barn
So do I muzzle at night when it would be on for longer or during the day when I feel it’s ‘safer’
Does any one leave a muzzle on all the time???
 
Most on my yard have it on 24/7 provided they can eat and drink well.

If you are just trying to reduce the amount eaten and don't want it on 24 hrs then I'd have it on over whichever period is the longest. If you're worrying bout lam I'd have it on during the day when grass sugars are highest.

I've gas great success with my 'always on the verge of lami' one by only bringing in or muzzling during the day.

We have RDA pony who is muzzled 24/7 except for when she is being ridden, she is a Dartmoor.
 
Oh thanks all for the replies - so it’s looking like I can leave on for 24 hours per day without worry that I’m doing wrong - it’s only until the spring flush is over so not forever
 
Lots use them 24/7. I did for a while but just felt so mean. Pony wore his teeth quite badly but it’s not caused any issues. I currently have him in a half acre paddock. He gets some hay and straw and seems quite chilled.
