Anyone else muzzled for the summer yet? I put Daisy's on three days ago with a new addition this year of a fetching silk scarf to stop it rubbing. She is really unimpressed and telling me she's fading away. She is however the fattest horse on the yard despite having the least feed and the most riding.

I was also wondering when I should think about putting my twos muzzles on. Their field is a mud bath at the mo and I'm having to give them haylage in the field to stop them bashing at the gate to come in! So I think I will wait and put theirs on as soon as they move into their other field which will be in the next month or so.

Mine's still in the trashed mudhole of a winter paddock, and thank god there's not much sign of growth in the summer half yet. She'll probably have hers on when they go onto the summer one, perhaps in a month or so.

She has just started living out with this lovely weather that we are having. I would leave her out all year but no-one else will nd she can't stay out alone. She has a blanket clip and at most a mw rug because she just doesn't get cold

I have enough grass to rotate the two halves of my field so it doesn't get trashed. In some ways I wish it did because then there wouldn't be grass for her to eat. As it is she has a lovely grassy field and its definitely coming through

mine only has a maximum of a mw rug too, he's got rhino skin!! I can't use muzzles on Murphy as he can get them off, so he'll be on restricted grazing as soon as the grass starts coming through.

Mine has access to 2 acres over the winter but he will be off that and onto his small paddock and hay in the next month. I have noticed him prefering to pick at the scalped grass rather than the longer winter stuff so it must be coming through a bit.

my cob has been out for a couple of hours in a small paddock the last week or so.(she was out longer sat and sun).
i know the grass is growing and that was proved today when i weighted her and she has gained a bit.

Maiden has had hers on (on and off) all winter. She has no grass, no food, enforced rest and is HUGE. She's put on weight this week too as I've had to leave the muzzle off (she needs the dentist!)
Grass is definately growing now though, where I am.
