We bought Fiddler (i named him) as a 4yr old from a meat market for £500.. i was only 12 and he was my first horse, i got him up to PC open level as a 5yr old, and he was then sold on to the same people who own him today, they did RC and a bit of showing with him.. when he was 8yrs old he started eventing (when sent to the Tolleys yard).. Chris always says that he owes Fiddler alot, as he gave him [Chris] his Badminton qualification (he competed Fiddler up to 3* level.)

He's now 17 or 18 and living a very happy retirement at home with those same people we sold him too, who have [through Fiddler] become very good friends!!!

Pointless post i know, but a happy one i thought

He looks smart, what a nice story...and lovely that you gave him a chance! I wonder how many other good'n's go for meat

yep, the gray horse at the very top of the home page, and also in the 'chris king' logo.

In fairness, we bought him at a meat market, but i very much doubt he would have gone for meat if we hadn't bought him.. as he was pretty well bred (by Button Bright) and the farmer who bred him knew he was worth more than meat, but couldn't be bothered to get it, and just wanted the horse gone (as farmers do) he knew we'd do the right thing by him, hence getting him so cheap

I was browsing that site a while ago, thinking what fabulous facilities Chris now has.

Your mum told me that story whilst you were doing your dressage test at Gatcombe. He certainly landed on his feet did young Fiddler.

Oh thats such a lovely story

Chris is only down the road from me and I have never bothered looking at his website before

He always said, that the reason Fiddler was so special to him, was because he got him his final Badminton Qualification (i guess back in the day when he was suddenly given Missdemeena to ride).
