Erm... because then everyone would get their entries in on the opening day, and then how would the secretary decide which ones to accept? Order she/he opens them?!? Lucky dip?!? Balloting isn't ideal, but with too many people wanting too few places, it's the best of a bad job. Marathons regularly run ballot systems too... frustrating!

now aiming for Solihull i think (but it's a long way to take baby horses!) then MK maybe.
