Just a random post to say i love my two new doggles!! We got them on sunday from the Doberman Rescue Centre.
So obviously are 2 dobermans, mother and son, 12 and 10..very old i know!!
But is a sad story, they were taken off their owners by the RSPCA because they were starved and locked in a little room. They are in bad shape, Jess has no hair on her ears and none on patches on her back and shes tiny!! really really small and skinny! And Ben her son has no hair on patches of him and has HUGE fatty lumps on his stomach and legs..like the size of oranges.
It makes me sad to think people could be so horrible to these two lovely dogs, and im so suprised how trusting with people they are

. I think theyre enjoying themsevles...theyve been out sleeping in the sunshine and enjoying theyre memory foam mattresses!!!!
I shall post some piccys of theyre progress soon and i know they probably wont be around for much longer...but its nice to think theyll have a nice home for theyre last couple of months

The fatty lumps arent a sign of cruelty - my doby is 7 and he has several - they are typical to the breed and according to the vet no point in removing them unless they are very close to joints.
But as for the other things - some people shouldn't be allowed within 10 feet of animals, let alone owning them.
Lots of piccies please!

Lovely story, let's hope they have long and happy retirement with you. Ditto the lumps, my ridgeback has several and they don't seem to bother her any.

yeaah we lost our last dobie 2 years ago and she had some on her..i suppose they are mre obvious on him as hes so skinny so they stand out more.
Its amazing seeing the difference in them only after a few days, when they arrived they were all depressed...but theyve already started creating a mischief following the horses around and driving us crazy with a squeeky ball!
Lots of piccys to come

That is so lovely that you have given two oldies a chance to live out their lives with kindness. So many people overlook the older dogs and its such a shame. There are two dogs of 10 and 11 at our local rescue centre who came in together and I often wonder about their story.

Am looking forward to the piccies.

xx

It's good to take the oldies. I went and got one 18 months ago 'cos the thought of them spending their last days in rescue is too sad

She's a doddery old hen but I love her to bits. Sure we'd all like to see photos now so we can see how good they look in a few weeks
