Went to my parents today to cook them lunch and as mum was in the kitchen knocking back the Blue Nun and singing along to Elaine Paige :o I showed my dad the headcam footage from Aston le Walls last week.

OMG  I wish I'd videoed his watching it. I pressed start and went out the room then heard a 'whoa' then again and again. I went back in thinking the video had paused but no - He was jumping every jump from his chair :D
He took off to early a couple of times ;) and as I jumped the corner he said 'what the hell is that' then 'why didn't it collapse, I thought they were meant to collapse ?'

As I finished he said he felt sick and didn't want to ride anymore.

I'm still chuckling about it now and it was four hours ago :D

Here's the offending video but watch with the sound off - I sound a right tit :o

Ah bless him, I hope he recovered quickly to join in with the Blue Nun!

He was on the Cotes du Rhone - Bit more classy than my mum :D

Awesome well done she looks great i have been thinking about getting a hat cam that look fab what one is it

It's an HD Drift. About the size or a Mars bar (other chocolate bars are available :p) I got it from Fleabay for £60.

Brilliant - what a lovely willing happy horse - well done! It seemed quite a long way - I was getting tired after all those jumping efforts! Thanks so much for posting it, very enjoyable, must get fitter!

As someone who is too much of a scaredy cat to ride xc these days I absolutely loved that! I think it is wonderful to hear you praise and appreciate your horse. What a great team.

Aww bless him :D

Great video, I really enjoyed it! Loved how much you praised and encouraged her on the way round, and what a willing mare, she seemed to be enjoying herself! Towards the beginning what where you a-a-a-ing at? I couldn't quite work out what it was for in the video but there was obviously something!

A-a-a-a is my 'naughty noise' :o If she's spooky or strong or just being a tart. She was spooking at the marque as you came through the gap to the second fence. It's more of a 'to get her attention' noise instead of smacking her with a crop. Not that she pays a blind bit of notice :D

Brilliant video! And I just love the thought of your dear old Dad watching it and joining in so wholeheartedly. :D

I might play it to him again next week and video him watching it. It's making me laugh thinking about it right now :D He could see a stride better than me

I realised it was your naughty noise I just couldn't quite work out what she was doing :D :D

How did the event go?

That was do fab to watch. I actually turned the sound up to listen to you. I thought you sounded brill and lovely and positive with her. She lives her job doesn't she. Ears pricked throughout just flicking it back to listen to you.

Blimey I've had more response in here than in CR last week when I posted a report :D

3beasties - 14th out of 36, winner was on 18 - yes 18 omg !!!
If I'd been in either of the other 2 sections we'd of got a frilly - typical :D

Loved the video! I think I might have to invest in a head cam when my bank balance is looking healthier - it looks like a fab way to recall the round!
