Well, not much to report really apart from the fact that the big orange one is in the dog house.
We were entered for the 90 first and were 53rd out of 56 to go, we warmed up really well so in we went. He took the first fence fine, had a look at the second but popped it nicely, came around to the 3rd (a spread with a tiger trap filler in it) and he was a girl and we had a stupid stop so he could have a look but he jumped it brilliantly 2nd time, fences 4, 5 & 6 he popped well but when it came to the jump out of the arena and he was a girl again and wouldn't go near it so that was the end for us!
We were entered for the 1m aswell so in we went (with a bigger pair of spurs), he took the first and second fences perfectly then we had steering problems (I didn't have any
) coming around to the 3rd, which was a double, and we went in all crooked and on a naff stride which I couldn't correct so we had run out. I re-presented and apart from taking the top plank off the first element he jumped through well. Number 4 was a rustic spread, we had a perfect approach, perfect stride.......But he said no
Sooo, looks like xc schooling for us and he'll hopefully have chane to redeem himself at the weekend
I have to say well done to Addington, it was a fantastic day, really well run and I think a good time was had by all! The one thing that I think ruined the day was the heat, I should think most people got burnt.
Big thanks to Cazza!!!! She was a star and drove me and helped me out......Work placement is so hard
