My Amazing Birthday Present

That so nice and the detail on the cart is lovely. My OH bought me a carriage driving lesson for Christmas. Haven't been yet for various reasons but should be good. You have a lot of tack to keep clean now. Belated happy birthday.
 
What a beautiful present! And how lovely its restored - much much better than a brand new one!! So much history in that little cart! Its lovely and so is your little pony :D fab!

I've got tears in my eyes too! What a lovely, thoughtful present. Something to cherish. You are so so lucky to have such a wondeful family, my grandparents would never do anything like that for me. They don't even like me all that much.
The cart is so pretty and how much time and effort your grandad must have put into it, your so lucky. I would give anything to have grandparents like yours :) x

I would love to learn abit more about its history really, I know that for the past 12years it's been laying in the same position in a muddy field but before that the woman used to drive it to the pub every night when she was 18 with her 11hh pony. Would be nice to know where it came from before that because I think it's quite distinctive with the carvings etc. I know it came from Ellsmere Port.

And I sure am lucky, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, I can't wait to get it to the yard, Grandads just waiting to have some special brass studs delivered to cover over all the screws and stuff like that! But will definately keep you all informed on how progress is going :) Thanks everyone! x x
 
WOW!! Lucky you!! Aint grandads the best;).

You can see and feel all the love he's poured into that little cart, that he has restored just for you. It reminds me of times when a mother made the wedding dress for her daughter. There's a lot of love there.
 
OMG it just looks like an old wreck in these pics. What an amazing amount of work has gone into it.
You should print this off and show your grandad how brilliant we all think he is!!
