My pony is a little piebald coblet but on her muzzle it goes very thin skinned , soft and white/pink like most grey horses.Because the sun these past few days took me by surprise , i wasnt prepared on Saturday with the sun cream and shes gone a bit peely there. !! I made sure i put some factor 50 on in the day Sunday and some sudocream when i got her in yesterday and today but is there anything else i should/can do? I'm going to order a muzzle protecter also .I feel quite bad, although she seems fine in herself, not wincing if i go near it .
the picture is of her nosing the camera before the sun, but i thought i'd upload it so you can see which bit i mean!

We use nivia factor 50 for kids sun cream :D it comes out blue but oh well  we also have one of those grey UV Gards that atach onto a field headcollar and mine rarely gets burnt :)
Try vasiline, that's what I put on gypsy's when it burns :)

Use sudocrem instead of sun cream, it sticks better and doesn't need reapplying so often. My cob hates her nose cover but will happily have the sudocrem on and I find it works better than sun cream.

sudocrem! What a great idea, with the price of suncream it makes sense. I am sure my Moses will hate it as much as the suncream but at least it will stay on longer! Thanks for that one Katherine, it's true you do learn something new everyday!

Do you have any after sun at home? Lol maybe try that? I havnt tried sudocreme for sun cream as just keep sun cream in her grooming box (I burn so bad I just keep one up there now lol) But I have used it on M the other day, her nose is white but still put it on there, I also put it on her heels, because she has no feathers (tb) her fetlocks are white but they are also very pink so make sure the sun cream goes in there aswell as that is also another place they can burn!

She doesnt like the sun cream much though! But then what animal does? lol

Asda do a kids factor 50 sunblock stick, (its bright green :D) but it's thick and sticks like sudocrem and stays on all day so doesn't have to keep being put on, its easy to get on too as you just "colour it in" and best of all they are 2 for a fiver !.
