My beautiful boy - gone off to be backed!

My lovely horse went off to be backed today.
Walked nicely the long walk to the lorry and after a little hesitation, loaded perfectly, short ride to the yard and then off the lorry into a stable before turning out with a sensible companion horse. So proud of him.
I've obviously been doing something right as although he is pretty huge and young he remained polite. And he gave a little whicker when I arrived too! ( got lost - what a dope).
I am so relieved that I managed to find him somewhere very good, and LOCAL!!!!

I feel pretty confident that he is going to be a real star now and the yard staff thought he was gorgeous too.
Just had to tell someone so thought I'd share this with you - now big glass of wine and some chips!

Keeping my fingers crossed that he will now have a good foundation to start his life as a ridden horse. He settled in quite quickly with a lovely field companion so I am optomistic that all will be fine.

My boy was sent off to be broken last year,hes now 8 and wow what a difference it makes.

He had tack on and was lunged today!!!!!! Thats some progress.
Been a good boy too. no problems - I am amazed.
Sharon - Not far from me at all just a few miles up the road and a lovely place!
Going to see him in a few days time but thought it best to keep away for a few days whilst they get to know him without me around. Boy do I miss him already, though but I ve able to take my old boy out for a hack and section my field off so I can get my cob back into work and fit again.

Will they have you ride him once hes backed,so you get used to him? I had to go to see mine and eventually get on him. Hes a different horse since broken in.
