She's been lame for three days.

We had a really good lesson on Friday & worked her pretty hard - then on Sat went for a hack. She was fine to begin with and we went for a bit of a canter. She felt awful (I blamed it on the wind as she was a bit sideways) but when we came back to trot she was lame.

I can't feel any heat, don't think it is in the foot, she's lame on both hard and soft surface and no worse with flexion tests. I am worried she has done a ligament

So fingers crossed & can I have some HHO vibes? If no better in a couple of days we are off to the vets.

Oh no! It could just be that she's knocked or bruised herself so try not to worry too much. Is she getting any better/worse?

ETS - forgot to say - HEELING VIBES!!!

ahh thankies - Starbucks - this is what I am hoping! It seems to be getting a little better but it's hard to tell.

She does throw herself around a bit so is quite possible she has clonked herself. Trying not to panic yet!

Sickening. As a psd horse owner in rehab do err on the side of caution and get the vet asap. There seems to be a better prognosis the sooner ligament damage is diagnosed and my experience was similar to yours. The awful thing with some ligament injuries seems to be that there is no heat or swelling, the horse will become sound(er) wtih rest but will go lame again so it can be tempting to keep trying the horse to assess progress. Do local vets have mobile ultrasound?

The heat thing is exactly why I think it could be a ligament

to be honest if it continues I will take her to the vet clinic and have them do the works on her.

Sorry to hear your girl is lame. If it was a ligament wouldn't there bit a little bit of swelling and/or heat? Might be just a knock. Fingers crossed she's OK very soon.
