the pony doesnt look like it was bothered at all....i used to do stuff like that as a child and sit on their bums etc....ride them back to front for a laugh...
We were actually taught that in the RS that I went to, lmao!! If you watch the army/police training stuff they are taught to do that too (not sure why??)

That photo was taken when he was about 9/10 , the second being taken when he was 18.. he was still last year teaching a 5 year old boy to walk and trot (off the lead rein) after a nasty accident .
So yes you are right , he is a gem
