Well wasnt the Blair i had hoped for but took away some really positives things in other ways :)

For those of you that saw the helicopter on the fri- that was me !! Not really sure what happened but i think fat boy stumbled just before the jump and ran out, leaving me to come out the side door and fall flat onto my back :( At that moment i realised i had shooting pains up my back and couldnt move.

The paramedics were at me very quickly and decided on getting the doctor (all were there so quickly and could not have been nicer to me!) who decided it was "serious" and called the ambulance :( At this point i was getting rather upset (despite the gas and air!) as i was told i had broken my back :(

I was transfered onto a spinal board and driven out to the ambulance who decided it was a helicopter!! The helicopter staff was suberb and a big thanks to them for looking after me (and mum :) ) At dundee i was xrayed and thankfully my back wasnt broken just a fracture to the pelvis!!!

I made it back to Blair in time for the hho bbq!! which was lovely and everyone there was so nice!! Boooo to the person who had read the thread and reported us though!!!!

Albert pig was the star of the show and enjoyed hand picked grass from the figjams and most of the bbq salad!! He also made a beeline for the pimms and a bottle of Mr Figjams beer! (which were quickly removed!)

The point of this post mostly is to say although i had a rubbish Blair in horse terms it was lovely in human terms! The kindness of people i didnt know very well was overwhelming, and the things they did to help me :D HHoers are such a truely lovely bunch of people!!!
Thank you all so much!!
Quadro and Albert :D

p.s sorry for the spelling mistakes i blame the drugs ;)

Glad to hear that it was nothing major (like your back) though I'd imagine that your pelvis is going to be pretty sore. Sorry the event didn't go to plan.

At least you and Albert had fun at the BBQ - his pic in FJ's thread is too cute for words. And he look so happy to be sitting in the remains of a bowl of salad!!

Oh you poor thing - I bumped into Figjam on the Saturday and she told me of your injury - glad to hear you made it back for the HHO BBQ though! I did hear about your fall third hand - was the talk of the shopping area only we heard it was a broken back and a stud through the face - glad it wasn't as serious!

Did you get the pictures of Albert posing on various XC jumps then? :D

Hope you are not too sore and your pelvis heals quickly!

Nothing like chinese whispers eh?? My face is still as perfect as ever :D!!
No pics of Albert on Sun as my mum wanted to get off and i was sore from the walking!!
I think Albert should have been the talk of the shopping area! He really was so well behaved!!

Great report, obviously would have been better to be reporting lots of DCs etc, but we are just pleased you are (almost!) in one piece. :)

Was so surprised to get your text on the Fri having seen the air ambulance but not realised it was for you, then even more surprised you were back and ready for BBQ action!

Hope you are not too sore for too long... thanks again for the hack on "Fatboy", now I can say I've "ridden at Blair"! ;) Albeit in walk around the lorry park/warm ups...! ;)

And he look so happy to be sitting in the remains of a bowl of salad!!

Ha ha, that was his mode of transportation- Quadro's washing up bowl! :D He sat quite happily in there as long as a constant stream of grass/salad items were provided. :D

Gosh - Ouch

You sound in good spirits - the things people will do to get a go in a helicopter ;)

Hope both you and your horse back out again soon x

Quadro - you and I caused some confusion. We both went splat at the same time. Hugo and I fell on the XC and were taken to the medics bit by the BSJA warm up. One doctor was with me and the other with you. When you were waiting on your helicopter a few of my connections thought it was for me, and outside my portacabin I was told that there were some of your connections wanting to know if I was you???

Then it was confirmed that I was me and not you but no one seemed to be able to tell them which hospital you had been taken too.

So glad to hear you are ok. Get well soon

Good grief that is confusing!! Just glad you are both OKish.

Quadro, you deserve some sort of medal for your dedication to BBQing!!!

I think there might even be photographic evidence of that... :D

Quadro - you were very brave after such a horrible experience. I really did think you were coming to borrow a cup of sugar rather than to announce your free copter ride...

I hope that Albert is taking good care of you x

Really pleased to hear it wasn't as serious as first thought! an't believe they actually told you you'd broken your back though, not something you want to hear when in shock!

I was an arena party in the ring that you had your accident. We stayed out of the way but close enough to worry if you were ok. Later security came over to say that you were being airlifted so cue more worrying from us volunteers. However yesterday our supervisor told us you were ok so we were majorly pleased to hear this. Hope your feeling better soon :)

The helicopter through right over us helping our friends in the showing warm up and we were all very worried. Didn't realise I'd know the person going in it!

Glad it wasn't as serious as it could have been! Get well soon :)

Smurf- hope you are ok!!! obviously the popular time to come off! I was hearing about the xc rider but was preoccupied!! Really hope your ok though!!
Yes i wandered about Blair with a guniea pig in a washing up bowl with a pig in a pink towel! Expect to see it catch on at your local event :D

I was somewhat alarmed at your FB post on Friday - but pleased to hear you're okay. Please, please, please take it easy though! Give yourself the best chance possible to recover.

Loving the guinea pig pics though. You are officially nuts! x

NJ- the hospital in Dundee was the only time i could get on fb and couldnt get on to update it :D
going to my bfs to stay for the week so no chance of me riding which i think is for the best!!

Nope mum would miss him!! We have a piggy together through called Percy so will not be without a pig! Percy is quite grumpy though and not so much of a party pig!

OMG!! "Just" a broken pelvis :( Do they do anything like put you in plaster for that?
I think that beats even my drama seeking antics of breaking down on the A1 and requiring a police road block to unload
Wishing you a speedy recovery and glad piggy was well looked after!

Wow sounds like you guys had a eventful blair. Yet again another one goes by where I havent made it up. So here hoping to next year.

Hope you guys arent too sore and I hope you follow dr orders for the pelvis and take things easy. I damaged the joints on the back of pelvis a few years ago when I got trampled by a horse in the field (long story) and ended up off work for 7 month and it still flairs up to this day. So I know your pain and hope you take things nice and easy.

Glad you're ok! You need to take it easy now.

Was there a photographer near the incident and if so do you know who they were?
