Blimey, he's only been hobdayed! They do it with most thoroughbred racers that are long in the neck. In fact a lot of racers out there now are hobdayed, or have the tie-back thing.
 
Have you put him on Horsemart? That is the one most people I know look at before anything else. I think he is fairly priced for an 8 year old, although there are are a lot of TBs on the market at the moment that are cheaper. He has a lovely kind eye which is what I always go on. Agree with the others - the pictures aren't good enough.
 
I know everyone on here raves about Horsequest and Horsemart but I got absolutely no interest whenever Ive advertised on there. What about Horse Deals? Goes in the magazine and online.

Ideally make up a shortish DVD of him (being ridden, possibly competing etc.) which you can mention in the advert, this'll attract people from further away as they can see a DVD first before setting out.
 
I've sold 3 horses in total. 2 very different ones were advertised on horsequest and got NO interest at all. One sold through horse mart, and the other eventually sold through H&H.
 

A Hobday is required if there has been damage to the recurrent laryngeal nerve which innervates the larynx. A long neck means a longer nerve, therefore more chance of being damaged. Nevertheless, it is something which "normal" ie unaffected horses don't require so the horse is not worth as much as a horse which is sound in wind. If you find someone who isn't fussed that he's had it done then that's great, but it would be fair that a buyer wouldn't expect to pay the same price as for the same horse without a history of respiratory problems.
