My boys are growing up ???

After a rather annoyed mum (me) on Friday night with my boys fighting over a bone and taking lumps out of eachother, I had my faith restored on Sunday with a really successful walk out with a friend and her rescue. Her wee dog is a x-lurcher type with some socialisation issues. Poor dog had been thru some 10 homes in 4 years before landing with my pal who is keen on her behaviour work.

My own BT has had some issues with strange dogs but since he regularly gets beaten up by my poodle :rolleyes: he no longer feels the need to have a go at strange dogs. So even with the lurcher bitch bouncing and barking in my boys' faces they just calmly went for their walk without so much as a worried glance. The poodle had a few "ah ah's" off me when he looked like he might wind her up more, but then quickly retreated to my side.

But the BT to me was the best as it really is a big ask of him to ignore a dog who is looking like they're spoiling for a fight. It's only taken ten years... :p
 
So I only have to wait another 9 years or so for Freya to grow up, thats good to know.:p
Glad your two were wearing their halos when our with your friends dog. (10 homes in 4 years:eek:).
 
I used to be the laugh of my other (non doggy) friends who used to say my Border was getting psychotherapy (well, just going to doggy training classes, but to them they were picturing him on the couch, talking about his toilet training...)

And as for it taking ten years - well better late than never eh? ;)

It is pretty sad for that wee dog to have had that many homes in such a short time. She was back and forth from rescue to new home then rescue to new home...I'm fairly confident that she's got her home for life now. My friend is so laid back but focused on her training so I think she'll do fine there. But it's going to take some work. Just glad my boys didn't make things worse!
