My boys injury from his fear of sheep! Don't look if you're squemish!

Following on from my posts regarding my boys fear of sheep this is what he managed to do to himself on the wire fence trying to get away from them.
I've definatly learnt I should listen to myself and not other people when I say he's frightened, he is!!
He had his skin stitches out yesterday and has been allowed out in his field accompanied by his new best friend ACP.
I bred him myself and so far he's cost me over £13000 in vets bills alone and he's only five!!!!!!!

WOW that is quite some gash. I hope he is on the road to recovery.....My horse was like yours when he was young, cost a fortune in vet's fees. As he gets older he seems to be calming down (touch wood).
 
Somehow he managed to leap in the air and land straddling the second line of wire of stud fencing, he has then panicked and galloped away which has caused the injury, snapped the wire and for good measure bolted over the otherside of his field and somersaulted the fence there so he is one very stiff neddy.
Basically he was out near some old sheep who, at most, trotted a few steps but they were moved and last years lambs were put into the field who hoolied about like a bunch of nutters and Wills just couldn't cope.
YO now has strict orders to bring him in before moving bar lambs!!
 
Oh my Goodness £13,000 I hope he is insured, otherwise thats bigger than my first Mortgage!!!!!

The injury looks horrendous, but he is so so very lucky to have a good Mum ... we all must remember that we know our horses best .........
 
Three weeks ago today, he's been on box rest until now and he's got a bit of freedom today although I'm on edge thinking about him being out at all. He saw the physio yesterday and has additionally had a reaction to all the jabs he had to have and has a very very sore neck so he's still on hefty painkillers too.
He going to be going out with a horse I've 'adopted' who's lovely and calm and may tell William how to chill a bit especially about the vicious white cloudy looking things!!
Fortunatly I found him shortly after he'd done it so the tissue hadn't begun to die and the wound hasn't broken down or become infected.

) but when my mare did a similar thing on a screw, it cost me less than £100 to have mended.

Good grief thats nasty!

Its quite amazing how some people dont believe you when you say "my horse is really scared of...." While im sure there are cases of people exaggerating, there are also the ones who are being 100% genuine!

If it makes you feel any better, mine was attacked by a cow year before last :*(
 
The £13000 is for Colic surgery, kissing spine surgery and this, havn't even thought of little bills thats just tooooo depressing. And yes before I hear you shout it, I do know how to breed a complete fruitloop!
