Had PC open Area team SJ on Tues at Towerlands. Bee and Willough did the Open team which was a first round at 1.10m.

The course was very technical, very big and huge parralels, all related distances and off corners and lots of lengthening and shortening required. Thhey jumped well in the first round to get 3 down. Team were good to finish in 2nd after the first round.

2nd round the jumps went up, lots! Some at 1.20 with massive spreads. A treble with an upright in, 2 long strides to a big parallel and then a short one to an upright, all at 1.15m.

Bless little Willough she tried her heart out but just brushed 4 fences.

Team finished in 6th but we won the Tack and Turnout. There were 13 teams and 12 indiv.. Out of 64 to jump there were only 6 double clears.

Pics are here http://www.flashharryphotography.com/ photo galleries, unex towerlands
open 1st round page 4, our team is the dark bay at the top onwards for 4 horses, Willough last to go

2nd round Willough is page 6, 2nd pic onwards.

There are lots of the team in the prizegiving too. Lap of honour was fun with 24 horses going round. They also had a flat out team lap for the T&T too!

Dressage was yesterday at Stratford hills. We took Jasper to do the Intermediate.

He was a star, stayed relaxed and did two lovely tests.

67.04 in Team, Area test to finish 5th in Arena (out of 19) team 3rd out of 19 (they missed qualifing for the PC Championships by 1 point)

68.8 in 2nd test to finish 7th. There were some very classy horses there.

Tomorrow off to Norfolk for the weekend with Willough for Area tetrathlon then back for a few days then back to a different part of Norfolk for eventing (both Open teams) then back for 2 days and have a different team comp with Jasper!

Sounds like a nightmare - I'm sure PC jumping wasn't that hard in my day!!

Feeling old now.

I used to love Tetrathlon - shame they don't do classes for 'grown ups' really. Could I still run a mile....?

Sounds very busy! Dont forget your down here in just over a week for the clinic!

wish id known you were at towerlands, would have come and said hello! we got there eventually after finding otto with the toe clip in his foot first thing (thats about 4 times now in 2 months he has done it) luckily my farrier was in the vicinity and came up and reshod him. ash was doing individuals (intermediate) as the 3rd team member had to join the A team due to the original riders lame pony, then his horse went lame after it jumped the first round!!
ash took the wrong course in the first round! think she was to busy concentrating on getting otto over the double as a couple of weeks ago he decided he was scared of them! and she jumped number 7 instead of number 3...but he did jump the double and was jumping very nicely to boot. ash was mortified that she had taken the wrong course, first time she has done it ! the coaches said not to worry as they had all done it at some point! ash's words were i bet you didnt do at area though! anyway she was allowed to jump the second round and again otto went very nicely and just got 4 faults. the team coach wants her to do the open next year! out intermediate A team won the intermediate team. the other girl in the B team jumped the jump off after the first 2 fences with no stirrups as they both fell off! her horse is a big gangly 6 year old. was a very long day. what time did you get home? i got home at 9pm and only live an hour down the road..just off to look at the photos.

I was at Towerlands watching the East Essex Open team who weren't placed

and I thought the jumps looked huge and as you've said - very technical. They were also at Stratford Hills yesterday (but I wasn't) and didn't qualify. I saw your brave pony giving her all - they were unlucky. Good luck for Tetrathlon and eventing

I saw Rosie, she did well indiv, both SJ and the dressage.

I presume she is doing eventing at Burnham market!

Yes you are right, Willough is a very brave pony and we are so careful not to ask her too much.

She will have a couple of fun runs back at PN level at the end of the summer, just to check her confidence isn't dented.
