And a big thank you to everyone who replied to my post about having my cat PTS - your advice and best wishes were fantastic

Sian had been very poorly and I had booked vet to PTS today but she ate a bit of chicken and had a sip of water last night and seemed slightly brighter but I still wasn't convinced.

Then this morning she had a bit of ham, wanted to go outside and wanted a fuss

Still arranged for vet to come as she had been so rough but was improving literally by the minute.

Vet has been, cat wouldn't keep still for exam

and after sometime pronouced that she was in good shape for her age and will live to fight another day

Can you imagine my relief? Felt a bit of a fraud but OH backed me up

The vet didn't suggest any blood tests or anything, she guesses that she must have had a bad stomach or similar but it seems to have passed and cat was okay now and not to bother her with any treatment.

In a strange way, even if she only lasted a few more days it would be okay now if she did slip away, she wouldn't give up without a fight and I'm so proud of her... does that make sense? However, at this precise minute I think she will outlive me, frightening me like that!

Please ignore the stupid grin on my face and lol at her clinging to me for dear life - you need asbestos shoulders to hold this cat

She has had a bit more to eat and is currently teasing the dog by sitting on top of the dining table just out of reach but close enough to take a swipe at nosey doggie

I am so pleased for you Chumsmum! Having lost my Siamese nearly 3 weeks ago now (and still no sign of her) I know how devastating it is without them. Glad she's rallied round and I hope she continues to improve.

She's lovely by the way!

Mine is exactly the same! She is Siamese x and approx 18/19 she has been booked in 3 times to be PTS and every time seems to have a miracle recovery! She goes from kitty Alzheimer's to sick to normal in the space of 12 hours so maybe its in the breeding! Glad she is ok!

Thanks for replies

She really looks like a different cat today - I am beginning to wonder if Siamese are as 'dramatic' at being under the weather as they are with everything else

You would think I would know by now.. When I had her sister PTS two years ago she still managed to bite the nurse and she really, really was at death's door

Sian has enjoyed some tea so fingers crossed she will be sleeping on my pillow for a while yet.

Really hope you find your cat - having them missing is worse than anything

Thanks again for your support everyone

I am so very pleased for you x and I am so glad you kept me updated in how she was doing as this little lady was close to my own heart and thoughts as I have a Siamese (x though) of my own and know just how loving and vocal these cats are. I am truly happy that she has turned a corner and I hope it is onwards and upwards now x
She is a beautiful cat btw

My Saki is a cross and has a face very similar to a Siamese but she is all black except for an auburn neck she gets in summer and a grey patch she has on the inside of one of legs.
Your Sian is beautiful though x
thanks so much for letting us all know how she is doing x
take care
Cazx
