Well after the dressage last night...........
Off we toddled to Church Farm again this morning at 10.45 I had a shocking morning and just made it by the skin of my teeth, Sov warmed up ok apart from a couple of pirouette type naps at people leaning on the fence of the collecting ring
We went into the funnel but faced the other way until the horse finishing went past (Sov has approaching thingaphobia ) then we slowly walked down the ramp and on our way, the first 3 fences were modified SJs then on and off the sleeper bank, onto 2 steps up and then down a steep derby type bank, sharp right to a double of pallisades, then an open ditch onto a bank with a small jump off, a couple of skinnys then a table, a hanging telegraph pole, a small trakenher, a double of skinny logs on an angle, a hanging log then the monkeys picnic table, a tyre jump, then ooops a little nap back to the collecting ring, represent at brush fence, then the hedge, a skinny pallisade, some straw bales, a tyre jump, water trough, up the derby bank and over an offset double of brushes, then the dyke, he ran out first time, then he jumped in and realised there was a ditch with water, so did a couple more pirouettes, then jumped out fine.
Show jumping I am afraid I rode like a gimp and we had 3 down ( arms are for pulling with not resting on withers!)

All in all I am really pleased with him today, there was many firsts that we've conquered (like the dyke!) and at least we completed. So the boy has another feather in his cap or string to his bow!

He is out in the fied I am just going to fetch him and give him his tea, and I bet he will be spark out before dark!

PS this was all in the german hackamore for those that remember the Bradwall palava!

Cheers, he is much more forward thinking now, and I think the hackamore removes the 'sore mouth' excuse! It was a really tough course because there was so much in a short space. It was 1330m and time allowed 3.00 minutes, it was definitely the more experienced horses (and ponies) that were zipping round near the time.
And the entry was only £20!!

Well done!

Would have thought an experienced p-t-p jockey like you would make a time like that though

i think you did brill. on paper 75 cms should be easy but my idiot clearly had heart failure at it! jumped like a badders pro round somerford tho which is annoying!! grrr!

thats the only problem with having it so small. some of the XC rounds i saw were scary coz it was so twisty turny
