My farrier is pretty amazing. Not only has my vet sung his praises upon xray for his excellent work with my horses foot balance but also for the many ways he gas helped in providing shoeing to support her various injuries.

When my horse did her check ligament because she has arthritic changes in her coffin joints the vet felt heart bar shoes would be beneficial, so she had metal plates of heart bar shoes for two shoeings.

However she got maggots under the heart bar which was impossible to see until the shoe was off and the farrier had started to par away the horn. I treated with an iodine and sugar solution and all was sorted.

So to prevent this from happening again my farrier came up with this solution today when shoeing her. Its a special plastic casing with raised ridges and something like magic cushion underneath to prevent maggots getting in and to aid as a cushion affect for the soles of her feet. She walked out literally swinging!

My horse has been in these for a couple of years now. They were such a game changer. Much better than the heart bars I had before.
