I got to the yard about 5pm and started to clip Mick with the intention of finishing him off tomorrow.

Clipped his neck and body down to the end of his belly on both sides, and one side round his elbow.

I was starting to loose the light, and me being me thought I would just finish the other elbow before going home for the night..

Then - Mick stood on the wire and the clippers went off... Yikes.. Half a clipped pony.

Luckily the lovely YO has mended them so I can finish off tomorrow, then they are off to be serviced and re-wired.

This has also happened to me, but my horse also managed to kick the clippers and break them, to top it off they belonged to my friend, and they were £300 so gotta get her some new ones.
My horse got an electric shock when she stood on the wire and now i cant get near her with any clippers!!

Im just gonna tell anyone who comments about her clip its the new style, and everyone should be doing it!!

You should see my usual attempts at clipping, a hairy elbow isn't too scandlous! D has a blanket clip at the moment that is about two inches further forward on one side than on the other! I didn't notice until I got on to ride for the first time.

The blades blunted on me once a mate was clipping and zonk they stopped she had half a clip. One side looked great the other side well it was not pretty. Luckily another friend came the next day and finished the clip. This is why i bought my own clippers and have 3 sets of blades just incase.

Poor lad had to look like this until it grew back, couldn't get anywhere near him to finish the job

you have my sympathy! just a thought - but have you tried the mega small and quiet battery operated clippers just so you can tidy up your lines? not being a smart a**se.. they are around a tenner and I use them on my horses whiskers etc.

Sadly don't have any pics but you should have seen my first ever go at clipping my hairy cob Sunny. I didn't know how hard to press and he ended up looking like he'd had a terrible accident with a Flymo lol x
