My Cob is known to head shake during the months of April to Sept when the pollen is high. He wears a nose net when we go out hacking and it helps marginally although I was alarmed the other day when we got back from a hack and I noticed his nose had blood coming down from one of his nostrils poor thing. He snorts a lot and I wondered whether is had burst a small blood vessel?

I know there is not a lot that can be done about headshakers but I don't want him to suffer everytime we go out.

Has anyone else experienced this with their headshaking neds?

My TB had a few nose bleeds over Winter, like yours it was just in one nostril and was a small amount of blood. On all occasions he had been sneezing a lot during the ride (due to the hay!) Once I switched him to haylage he was fine.

Unless they become very regular or there is a lot of blood I wouldn't worry to much about it :)
