Did exactly what a cob should, she looked after her VERY nervous rider and did everything expected with good grace, after which I even took her in the small hunter class (good god but its hogged

) just for the ride round, much to my amusement she was actually pulled in 5th of 11 or 12!
I hope everyone gets as much enjoyment out of their horses as I do, cobs or not!
BTW I even went and took my racehorse in a workers and a show jumping class, do you think everyone will laugh at me??

by the by, my friend took his point-2-pointer county working hunter- now THAT was interesting! sufficient to say that the judge didnt call him back in.... we think it was because she didnt want to ride it

Oh I think I should deffo hog Berry and then with you and your COB, we can do pairs - sod the colouring! She's really lovely btw! This is deffo a more cob like pics than in the thread where you were slated! I can't remember who the posters were, but there are ways of being tactful when expressing ones opinion - I'm no angel, but I was shocked by that thread and tbh think that fatarse (love it) was incredibly gracious about the whole thing!

Well done!

It's lovely to hear people really enjoying their horses - and their horses obviously enjoying an outing too.

(And well done on your good humour and grace in the face of provokation today too!

Its just like a great big virtual livery yard on here, but at least you can switch off or go away and enjoy your horses and leave the livery yard in the living room!

Well done for flying in the face of controversy

and doing your own thing and enjoying it.

But then isn't that what we are meant to do with our horses?

Fatarse - what is your cob's name, if you don't mind me asking? It's only that now she is so famous she can't just be known as Fatarse's Cob-no-she-isn't-yes-she-is.

QR I didn't post on the original thread because I didn't want to get caught up in all the turmoil and also because I am not a great lover of hogging and the picture wasn't the best in the world. I decided to wait until fatarse posted another. I am glad I did because she looks lovely and the hogged mane really suits her too. I am not against hogging it is just that I have seen some horses and ponies hogged and they look bloody awful to be honest as some don't have the conformation to carry it off and yet their owners/riders are convinced it makes their mount look the best in the field or whatever.
I am not trying to court controversy by saying what I have I am just being honest.
I don't mind hogging being done to the horses that it suits but I just don't like it the other way around. That said it is personal choice and each to their own. At the end of the day it is someone else's horse. I just wish sometimes some people would just take a step back and have a long hard look before they commit to any kind of judgement about their horses.
Fatarse your mare looks wonderful. The hog looks brilliant and to be honest really makes her stand out.
Well done on your placing and I have no doubt we will be hearing about her moving up the positions in the not too distant future

But for now well done, be proud x

Im so glad you all enjoyed yourself and the Controversial Cob looked beautiful.
Its lovely to read about people actually enjoying their horses instead of all the seriousness & complaining.
I am now off to hog my arab as we wouldn`t like to be unfasionable
