This was done at 1 oclock so why when I went back up at tea time was he trying to get frisky with his mum.:o..and why when he was meant to be gently walked out did he decide to bog off leaping and jumping around like a utter numpty fortunatly he wasnt bleeding when he came in but why why why does he want me to have a heart attack

he is punishing you for doing that deed to him!! Aw bless him, sounds like his recovery will be uneventful, I hope so. Ours was done whilst still suckling, the second they dropped I booked the vet, mum was there to comfort him and Im sure made it all easier, Eeyore was nearly 4 when he was done, the swelling was horrendous and he wandered unhappily about for a week before he began to cheer up a bit. I do think the younger they are the better they recover.

Had 10 month old colt done last month ( standing sedation ), hardly any bleeding or swelling , no John Wayne walking . He was just kept in overnight and you wouldn't think anything had happened to him !

Glad to read this post and will point daughter in its direction as her colt is losing his bits in a couple of weeks. She is a tad worried that there will be loads of blood and it will be all rather messy (vivid imagination :p ) so she will be rather relieved at how simple it really is and how well the little angels (!) recover :D

I had Oscar done on the 8th march (at 21 months) My friend also had her 9 month colt done at the same time.... Little one def coped better, less swelling and bleeding, and you wouldn't have known he had anything done, whereas Oscar took a good week to be back to his normal self..... I felt terrible but he is fine now...... :D
