Well it started at 5am, went over got frankie in from field took of his thin rug and hood, washed his legs and tail and pit purple on while i plaited him. loaded lorry tried starting lorry (flat battery) luckily we managed to jump it off the car. and we set off at 7am.

Arrived at 8.30 lunged and then warmed him up for dressage, he did what i thought was a lovely test but he got 38.5! he last test he got 29 and this one felt as good! so a bit disappointed as this was his last PN before going novice at Stonar.

SJ - the ground was very slippy and the course up to height managed to burry him at fence 5 which he jumped but knocked down so 4 to add.

XC - He absolutley flew around the XC to go clear with no time faults, no sticky moments anywhere so feel he is ready for novice.

I ended up in 8th as there were only 7 clears SJ in my section and it seems she was a high scoring judge. I was 9th after dressage and crawled up to 8th. Pleased with frankie especially as he has been so consistant at PN - he has been in top 10 in 9 of his 10 starts. Fingers crossed for novice!

Left longleat at 4 and got home at 6 so long day for him, gave him some chaff and apples when we got back (he is allergic to horse mix!) and turned him back out in the field.

Well done and good luck for your 1st Novice sounds like you will be fine!!

I havent been to stonar since 1999 when i went on Pony club camp riding the mother of the foal pictured left, i remember it being a nice course. Thank you

Very pleased and will feel more confident once I have done a Novice as not sure how my dressage and SJ will compare and if it will be up to scratch, hopefully he will be ok XC. Thank you

Is he grey by any chance (re rug and hood)?
Our truck used to do this all the time, until we gave in and bought a new battery.
Well done for the placing - the dressage score sounds very good!

He is skewbald with a white mane!

But he is the dirtiest horse ever! Think we will have to get a new battery especially as we want to sell the lorry next month! Thank you

Thank you, I am pleased with him, we bought him out of the trade it as a just broken 5 yr old to do some PC with and sell on, but he has exceeded our expectations and there is no way I would sell him now! Hopefully he will manage Novice OK!

tell me about it, there is no way i could take him without washing his mane and its so hard to plait it when its clean! Ace bleach in the tail (only on white bits) followed by conditioner works a treat!
