It seems that lately, more and more strange things keep happening to me. For example, going to places that aren't at home, and meeting lots of other ponies and horses. Once when we were at the place where we go to do circles sometimes, I even met my friend the Noodle-Head, who used to live in my field until he left! It was really nice to touch noses with him again, and we shared a haynet.
Today, the Carrot Lady put my weird feet on, the ones that I wore last summer when my foot hurt. My foot doesn't hurt now, so I'm not sure why I had to wear the weird feet today.
The Carrot Lady said that she doesn't want me to have an excuse for not trotting properly when there's stones on the ground. But I don't really understand that, because the stones move around under my feet whether or not I have my weird feet on, and I don't like that at all!
First, we went to the square place with a roof on. Except we didn't go in the square place, but in the place behind the square place, where there's some sand and some grass and also some strange bumps in the ground and some jumpies. For some reason, the Carrot Lady gets a bit tense when we're there, and that worries me, and then I just have to turn around and run really really fast to get away. But today, she wasn't tense, and first, we made some circles, which was hard work, because I had to canter lots, and whenever I thought we were done, and were trotting around, I had to canter again. She isn't flapping so much though, so that's good!
Then, we went over the weird bumpy ground a bit. That's actually sort of fun! It goes a bit like this: nununununun. Apparently, the trick is to keep a nice even pace whether it goes up or down, and I'm really really good at it!
I only get to do that in walk and trot, though. She thinks I'm not ready to canter over it. I'll show her!!
Then, we went for a trot in the woods. She's been really insistent lately that we trot lots, and canter lots too, and I hardly get to amble at all any more! What's the great hurry, I ask you??
We got to the bit where the path goes along a big stone step that goes into a flat place. She asked me to go up and down that step a bunch of times, and I was very brave and did it each time, because we've done it before, so I know exactly what to do! But apparently, the Carrot Lady doesn't know what to do yet, because she fell off!
I thought about going home, but I let her catch me and get back on, and then we went up the step again, and she was lots better at it that time, and didn't gob me in the mouth or fall off.
Then we went home, and along the way, we met some of my friends, but they were going another way. And then I had to walk past a bit where there were some really really loud people. They were jumping around and running, and kicking round bouncing things! Three round bouncing things! And then there was a big boinging sort of sound right behind me, and I got really spooked!
The Carrot Lady turned around and shouted something at the really really loud people; she said she thought they'd kicked one of the round bouncing things into the fence right behind me.
We did another fast trot and a nice fast canter after that, and then we got home. I was pretty sweaty, so I was looking forward to a nice roll, but first, I got my red square thing which I licked lots, and then, I got a carrot!
I wonder why the Carrot Lady is so insistent on going everywhere really fast these days, though? It really is very odd.
