never thought that id get back out eventing after i had to retire my mare 4 years ago, but i think my WB has totally changed that for me.
Now most of you would probably say im stupid/mad or both. Ive been focusing on her hacking and flatwork, shes never been XC and only had 1 jumping lesson and that was SJ and indoors (last year i think) But there was an open weekend at a local yard so popped her in the trailer and went over there to play.
Well apart from getting stressed in the trailer as horses kept cantering round it
she was a super star. She loved every minute of it, cantering around open fields popping jumps every now and again. she was very bold (very strange as shes a wuss normally), verging on strong at first, but everything I asked her to jump she did
. A lovely powerfl jump. She was more scared of the logs laid on the floor than the man made tiger traps/brush fences. She loved the water complex even though it was exceptionally deep (and of course smelt devine not)
So im now off to find some more local low key events to take her to then its a new job for her for the winter
