our neighbor who just got their rescued 3 yr old pitbull asked me if we could bring our dog to their backyards so they could be playmates. I said yes since i've known them for over a year now and i also think it's a good idea. at first, they are just trying to get to know each other since they are only meeting for the first time, we let them play in the backyards then suddenly we heard a growling and we saw them fighting. we immediately came to them and i dont see any injuries from my dog but after that day i noticed my dog suddenly became weak he just lost his energy and strength. i looked it up on google and saw an article abt internal injuries. some symptoms said that it could be intternal injuries but we are hoping that it is not. we are bringing him tomorrow on the vet.

If it helps my Mrs Spaniel got beat up a few years back by a dog of dubious bull breeding. She bounced away from it with what looked like minor puncture wounds, nothing vet worthy which I cleaned out. (I think she was very lucky as she had a coat on which filled up most of his mouth). The next day however she got weaker and weaker, refusing to eat, lying depressed on her bed. I rushed her to the vets, thinking internal injuries, shock, goodness knows what. Genuinely thought she was on deaths door at the vets as had to carry her out of the car, she didn't even want to greet the vets and just laid down ignoring the world.

The vet diagnosed her as a drama queen, checked her all over, confirmed that the wounds were nothing to worry about, gave me some metacam to be on safe side to put in her tea that night. By the time we got home she was bouncing all over the place, leapt out of the car and was very pleased to have had some attention.

Ahhh, the joys of spaniels. Twice now I’ve rushed mine to the vet in tears. Twice she has bounced out of the car without a care in the world on arrival.
