My dog has a black spot on his tongue

Is this normal? Im not sure i've seen one on a dogs tongue before.

If you have never noticed it before, it may just be a pigmentation mark, which is completely normal.

My mum always says that a GSD pup with a black spot/spots on its' tongue will grow up to be a looker

My Lab has about 6 black spots on his tongue, always has.

Nothing to worry about at all

My three dogs wants to know why I've disturbed them in the middle of the night to stare wildly into their mouths? Neither have any black spots on any side of their tongues as far as I can see and I was planning to send in registrations for a dog show in the next couple of days...

Does this mean I should be wearing a really short dress with a corset under (pushing up + together certain assets and pushing in certain others) on the next dog show?

But the short dress and corset is never a bad idea if you're handling, depending on the judges preference of course

The short dress won't happen, it isn't my stile, I only end up constantly trying to pull the skirt part down a little further. Although I might look into buying a corset or something...

Finny, you remind me of a certain young lady handler I used to run around with, she is a few years older than me and my Saturdays often included me sitting in the ladies' bathroom at football/social clubs/showgrounds watching in awe as she hairsprayed her bouffant, applied eyeshadow and re-arranged her cleavage, then donned a pair of football boots with studs to give her more traction for gaiting

Goya, I know supposedly with Border collies, if they have a black roof of their mouth that should indicate that they will be good sheepdogs

beau has a black mouth, however not sure we have the brains etc to be a "good" sheepdog!

Id think the black spot on the tongue is nothing to be worried about, unless it changes and grows or anything like that!

I have never heard of anybody using football boots for better traction before Hacking_Hack but considering how I've often seen GSD's shown, it sounds like a quite good idea.
