My dog has breath any solutions?

Take your dog to the vet - it is very likely his/her teeth will need cleaning with possible extractions, that is usually the cause of bad breath in dogs.

I did and the vet recommended some oral care for the dog but when I tried the dog refused it. So I'm looking for another alternative. It's nothing serious the vet said just regular oral care and the products here are limited.

I use Plaque Off at the vets recommendation for my three, all elderly, and it works well - you just sprinkle a small amount on food. It is seaweed based and contains minerals so apart from getting rid of plaque it makes them feel great, my 17 (at the time) JRT was racing round the garden when she first had it. You can get it on line or from vets, pet stores etc.

Dentastix are full of rubbish that I wouldn't feed and very expensive.

As others have said bones are the way to go. I feed half raw/ half kibble. I can smell their breath if they haven't had a proper bone in a while. I use ribs/ spine as they have something to properly chew on or if you can a knuckle bone with plenty of meat.

I think it's a good sign your dog has breath..

Was just about to say the exact same thing.

OP, did the vet check/clean the anal glands? Our collies have never needed doing, but the JRT does and we know when, because his breath becomes awful. It's worth checking that out. You can easily do it yourself if you get shown how properly.

Other than that, I manage it by feeding a very good quality dry feed with no additives or crap. I also give them all raw bones twice a week which they absolutely love and really helps with the cleanliness of their teeth and gums x
