He really is a spud, is our Henry!

On our walk today I was amusing him by throwing sticks into the bracken for him to find.... well chance would be a fine thing! As soon as I picked one up he was over like a shot, leaping up and trying to nick it (naughty

) and quivering with the excitement... but every time I threw it he went leaping off in totally the wrong direction

He paid no attention to where it was going at all, just dived headfirst in, and rarely went within ten feet of wherever the latest stick had landed! He washaving lots and lots of fun looking though, judging by the tail wagging and all the leaping about he did!

He did find one eventually..... he ate it

Anyone got any similarly 'special' moments to share? Surely I can't be the only one who has a such spud for a dog?

My GSD Kodi still jumps at the wall when the light hits the lamp shade and shines on the wall. In 10 years she's never caught the light but still continues to butt the wall most days. lol

pmsl, that's another thing Henry does - he chases the torch light on the ground when we go out of a walk at night, just for the first minute or so until he gets bored

He has stopped leaping at leaves since he hit a tree though, maybe there's hope yet?

Ah, another member of the Mafia, excellent

Oh and don't forget stopping to investigate a certain patch of grass/treestump/hedge/ditch that he once found a hedgehog/pheasant/shrew/hare in 18 months ago, just to check if it is still there.

With the rate that he puts up wildlife, our walks are becoming incredibly long.

Until recently Yellow Dog thought black sheep were dogs - until one bleated at him that is and he panicked

He also repeatedly runs into the door before it's been opened... My favourite 'speshul' thing he does is his mouse hunting - if something is against a wall at teh yard then there must be a mouse behind it and he'll just sit and stare for hours
grin.gif
It doesn't matter that he's never seen a mouse there before

Yep she chases the torch light too when out on walks. You could entertain her for hours doing that and my nephew thinks it great and has her running up and down the path over and over and over. I don't think special covers it

Aah yes Evie suffers from long memory syndrome. There will always be a rabbit in the same spot there was one months ago, currently it is a tree that once had a squirrel in it that gets the attention every day

You could pretend to throw a toy for Buffy and she would run after it every time, never realising you hadn't let go. However with the problems with her sight that have come to light I actually feel the worlds worst owner for laughing at her for this as it is quite likely this was an early sign of the problem

Poor Buffy

Not your fault!

Henry is not fooled by pretending to throw things, he knows whether or not it's been thrown - he just pays no attention to where it goes
