He has excelled himself!

So, we were out at lunchtime and just as I went to recall him he shot off, displaying classic spangle deafness:mad: 'Oh no' thinks I, seeing he is heading for a ditch where there had been a dead pigeon a few days ago (we had a discussion on this issue and it was left in the ditch after he'd retrieved it a few times:rolleyes:).

So I stand and fume for a second, then start to head towards him with murder on my mind:p. And he picks something up (I'm thinking, 'Ack! Ek! Decomposing pigeon!') and heads for me....

It was my little dog treat bag, which I had dropped there on Monday and hadn't seen since - he had found it:D And he brought it straight over, sat and presented it, and he didn't rip his way into it (as he did a long while ago with one of its predecessors):D

So he got to eat a large lump of the contents as a reward, and is now looking smug as he has shown himself to be a GENIUS, albeit a cloth-eared one...

It's a spangle thing - I droppped my ancient ipod in the snow a few weeks ago - it was before dawn, I wasn't sure where it dropped out of my pocket and a total white out - no chance of finding it. I took the same route 2 days later and jokingly said to Bruce 'where's my ipod?' 3 minutes later he came trotting back with it! Amazingly it still worked after being dried out and recharged!

Bruce is also good at finding lost horse shoes - he doesn't pick them up but 'digs' at them!
