Just come back from a walk,

on the way back, a spaniel was walking the other way, and beau being beau went charging up to say hello, however spaniel was less keen on the idea, but owner was good enough to grab hold of hers to give me the chance to call beau back! (dont mind dogs snapping at beau as hoping he will eventually get the message not every dog wants to be his friend!)

However, walked a good distance past them, like 30-50m I would think, and so thought right ok enough distance, let him off the lead again (as he is being really good at the minute with recall etc, so trying to ensure we get as much practice as poss!) we walked about 5 paces, he turns and charges back towards this spaniel, who's owner and it had just walked through a wire post gate.....

spaniel turns pins beau against the gate having a real go, beau is squealing, im sh***in myself runnin like a loon, owner of spaniel grabs it! (thank god!) and beau manages to slip back through the fence and comes straight back to me! (and striaght back onto the lead!!!)

No idea why he went back for more! the spaniel owner was really apologetic but I explained it was mine and beaus fault for him being an ass and coming back for round 2!!!
Hoping this will get the "not every dog is friendly" message through to beau, doubtful, but hey!

However he now has a...... sort of graze wound on the inside of his back leg, its really red, but not bleeding, Iv clipped the hair around it back so its not dangling in it, and wiped it down with warm water....... anyone got any other suggestions as to what I can do for it?!

Thank you!!!

Sorry had to rant about my stupid mutt! thank you for putting up with it!

O poor beau! I wouldn't worry about his leg - just let him lick and it will soon be gone.

Steep learning curve for some puppies - and difficult when he is used to hanging out with spaniels.....

ye u could see him go: SPANIEL!!!!!!! MINT!!!!!!!
and the spaniel was like: stay away from my ball or il eat you!!!

Ye beau does need a bit of a learning curve, just hope this has knocked the nail in so to speak!!!

Have to admit when we got home and I found the grazes etc I was like "AHHHH BABY!!!!!!"

LOL @ your title!

If it just seems to be a graze, then I think bathing it is fine.

A bit of salt water should sort it. Sudocream can be good for grazes, but I know Pops would lick it off

(strange little monster loves hand cream, body lotion etc....

Yeah salt water is great, or I got a bottle of Hibiscrub from the chemist on the vets recommendation. It's the iodine solution they use to sterilise skin before an op and I water that down and wash any wounds or grazes. Despite Liz pulling ALL her stitches out and and leaving her leg wound open to all the crap she runs through for 3 weeks it stayed uninfected
