This damn rat has been eluding my cats despite their efforts iin catching it. I think they were wary.

Well earlier saw a tail sticking out the drain hole and the cat watching.

fast ........................................ forward.

I moved every thing well almost out feedroom lifted up a feed bowl which had a cover and the damn rat was in it :mad:

it ran and hid, and the damn rat had made home up in the chest freezer gas hole. loads food in there . so tipped freezer up poked out the feed with a spoon, dog grabbed rat and went out feedroom with rat hanging on to his mouth , George let go then grabbed again blood dripping out i thought it was rat...............

fast forward he dropped rat breathed again then died. Dog is now booked into vet soon.. well done George

Poor George :( my dog regularly comes in looking like this after I have had to wrestle a hedgehog from his mouth. Stupid thing can't work out that he is the only one that gets hurt!

George - 1
Ratty McRatterson - 0

Providing that he's up to date on his Lepto jab, he'll be fine. Most dogs get the odd nip and then learn that to get in first, is the trick! ;) George is a top man!! :D

Believe it or not, the best ratter that I ever had, was a Whippet. He was mustard at it!! :D

Alec.

Well he is up to date with all jabs but vet wanted him on a 5 day course of anti biotics to play it safe. Its his first rat and he had to poke his nose into freezer hole so I guess he could not see where to grab .

There are two large wholes but they have not penetrated to the inside.

Ratty lay on the drive till eve no one wanted him so put in paddock and within 20 mins he was gone. My guess Mr Magpie or Raven took him on a business class trip to pastures new .:D
